During the period leading up to your move out date, the collection bins are likely to fill up quickly and the waste management can present challenges for tenants, It’s good to start thinking about waste disposal as early as possible to avoid being caught out at the end of the tenancy term.
What to do?
• It is a good idea to plan now, ahead of your move out and dispose/donate of items that you no longer need.
• All of your rubbish and recycling should put in the correct bins
• If the bins are already full, you must wait for them to be emptied before disposing or if you have a car, you can take your rubbish to the local recycling centre.
• On the day you move out, please remember not to leave any waste on top of or next to the collection bin. Doing so will lead to a fine from either Manchester City Council or Sam Properties. The bin area is monitored with CCTV.
Please remember not to leave any unwanted items in the property. Instead, consider donating or selling any small items that are still in good, usable condition to local charity shops :
Barnardo’s ( Fallowfield ) RSPCA ( Withington ) Oxfam ( Withington ) Age UK( Withington ) Cancer Research ( Withington ) Francis House ( Withington ) St Vincent de Paul ( Withington ) Lighthouse ( Withington )
• If you have access to a car, you could transport the rubbish to your local recycling centre, please click on the Local Recycling Centre button below for more details.
Everyone must take a responsible approach to keeping the streets clean, Flytipping/Leaving rubbish on the floor by the collection bin is terrible for the environment, can cause a human health hazard.
• Action will be taken for anyone who
engages in these activities by issuing Fixed Penalty Notices from either Manchester City Council or Sam Properties.
• If any waste or tenant belongings are left inside the property. You will be charged for its removal.
