To help you with your move-out, we’ve created a cleaning guide to minimize potential cleaning charges against your deposit. This guide is organized by room, highlights commonly missed areas, and includes a downloadable checklist for your convenience.
Kitchen
Hob
🔹Use a glass scraper to remove thick grease/burnt on stains
Extractor Cooker Hood
🔹Please let us know if the cooker hood light bulbs is not working
Oven
🔹Don’t forget to check around the oven door seal and the gap between the oven door the base of the oven.
Fridge
🔹Please do not hoover food as instructed in the video. 🔹Leave the fridge powered off after cleaning and keep the door open to avoid mould growth.
Freezer
🔹Please make sure to be present during the defrosting to prevent the ice/water from saturating the floor and causing any damage.
Cupboards and work surfaces
🔹Please do not hoover food as instructed in the video. 🔹Once surfaces are dry, run your hand over them to check for any remaining residue.
Dishwasher
🔹Purchase a dishwasher deep cleaner solution. 🔹Make sure to clean the rest of the dishwasher surfaces including the door seals and the section beneath the door when open.

🔹Sink – Remember to dry to prevent watermarks
🔹Wall Tiles – Free from food residue and grease
🔹Extractor Fan – Free from dust and grease
🔹Back of Door – Free from food residue and grease
🔹Kick Board – Free from dust and grease
🔹Behind and under fridge freezer
Bathroom
Washing Machine
🔹Remember to clean the detergent tray and rubber seal inside the drum 🔹You are not required to clean the filter at the bottom of the machine.
Bath / Shower
🔹Apply the cleaning product for at least 1 hour before you scrub. 🔹For silicone, use tissue with bleach and leave for at least 24 hours.
Shower Screen
🔹Dry thoroughly to avoid water marks . 🔹For more stubborn stains, here is an alternative.
Toilet
🔹Remember to clean the surrounding area. 🔹Using bleach inside the water of the bowl over night would be easier to remove stains.
Commonly missed areas
🔹Sink – Remember to clean under the sink bowl and stand
🔹Extractor Fan – Free from dust
🔹Mirror – Streak free mirror
General Rooms and Floors
Floor
🔹Vacuum and mop the floor, behind and under furniture
🔹Dust then wipe with a damp cloth to remove any marks.
Windows
🔹Use non-smear glass-cleaning fluid/spray to clean all windows, frames and windowsills
🔹You can use a mix of bleach and water to get rid of mould and mildew
